I can't download from YouTube. There are limits.

Last update: 16.11.2025

YouTube returns following errors:

  • Sign in to confirm you’re not a bot.

  • Your limits will reset soon, usually within an hour

  • The following content is not available on this app

  • Watch on the latest version of YouTube

  • This helps protect our community.

It seems like it's a new approach of YouTube to stop users from massive downloads. When downloading without authorization, YouTube allows a limited number of downloads. After reaching this limit, you'll see one of the messages above.

Solutions at this stage:

  • Change your IP address using a VPN
  • Or authorize with a Google account by going to Preferences -> Authorization -> YouTube. (see important notes below)

If you continue downloading large amounts of videos while authorized with your Google account, YouTube may impose a shadow ban on your account.

What happens during a shadow ban:

  • Videos become unavailable both in the app and on YouTube.com and on TV
  • You'll see error message: "This video is unavailable"
  • This affects your entire YouTube experience, not just downloading
  • The ban typically lasts 1-72 hours but may be longer in severe cases

Recommended approach:

  1. Create a separate Google account specifically for downloading
  2. Use this dedicated account only in YouTube to MP3 Converter or YouTube Downloader
  3. Download responsibly - avoid downloading hundreds of videos in short periods
  4. Take breaks between download sessions
  5. Disable your account periodically to see if YouTube allows anonymous downloads.
